Etisalat to start Afghan service

Etisalat will start its operations in Afghanistan by the end of June 2007, Gulf News quoted CEO Mohammad Al Qamzi as saying. The service will focus on low-tech voice and text services. Etisalat is the fifth operator in the war-ravaged country, and analysts expect the operations will only make a marginal contribution to its total operating revenues.
