Bahrain Insurance Association opens its Headquarters

In a step towards the advancement of the insurance industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) opened its new Headquarters under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Mr. Rasheed M. Al Maraj at the BKIC building in the Diplomatic Area.

  • The opening was attended by the Deputy Governor of the (CBB) Mr. Anwar Khalifa Al Sadah, Secretary General of the General Arab Insurance Federation Mr. Abdul Khaliq Raouf and a number of invited guests.

Mr. Al Maraj toured the new BIA Headquarters which will be operational from the beginning of May 2007. At the end of the tour, Mr. Ashraf Bseisu Chairman of the BIA expressed in his welcoming speech appreciation to the CBB's support to the Association which contributed effectively and positively to the advancement of the insurance industry; considered one of the most important industries in the Financial Services sector.

Chairman and Board members of Bahrain Insurance Association presented a souvenir gift to the Governor as a token of appreciation for patronizing the opening ceremony of the new BIA Headquarters.

On this occasion, Mr. Al Maraj highlighted the importance of the role played by the Bahrain Insurance Association in promoting and developing the insurance industry in the Kingdom and in promoting Bahrain as a premier insurance hub In the region.

Mr. Ashraf Bseisu, Chairman of the Bahrain Insurance Association said:

"The opening of the Headquarters comes as part of our overall strategy to strengthen BIA's role and to increase its activities. We hope to play an effective role in enhancing coordination between insurance players in the Kingdom of Bahrain; increasing the level of awareness amongst the public; and promoting higher standards of client service & support. We will continue to work hand-in-hand with the CBB and other parties towards the advancement of our industry and country as a whole."
