Hertz UAE announces new branch opening as it receives prestigious MENA award for the fourth year running

The new branch is situated in the Radisson SAS Hotel in Dubai Media City and is the company's 13th outlet in the UAE and part of an ongoing strategy to widen its network across the country and improve its service to customers.

At the glittering MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Travel Awards ceremony, held at the Al Bustan Rotana hotel in Dubai on Thursday (May 3), the Hertz UAE team scooped the top Platinum award in the Best Car Rental Company - International Brand category.

The accolade followed two months of online voting by customers and travel trade professionals. A total of 54 awards were given out in 18 different categories, including categories for five and four-star hotels, spas, airlines, duty-free shops and golf courses.

Bob Farrow, Hertz UAE general manager, said:

"Winning this award for a fourth time is a great honour for all our team members as it reflects their hard work and commitment to making sure that Hertz is the number one choice for both business and leisure travellers in the region,"

he said. "We are entering an exciting phase of growth with new branches planned across Dubai to match the city's rapid population increase as well as the projected growth in tourism over the next few years."

Hertz UAE, part of the Al Futtaim group, is the fastest growing car rental and leasing company in the market and in 2006 recorded a 23 per cent revenue growth compared with the previous year. This year it plans to open new branches in Dubai Marina, Dubai Festival City, Sheikh Zayed Road and the new Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport with a further branch planned for Dubai Investment Park in 2008.

Last week Bob Farrow also collected the trophy for the Best Car Rental Company in the Middle East on behalf of all 11 Hertz franchisees in the region at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards in Dubai.
