The estimated cost of the development is 500 million Dirhams, and this will fulfill the vision of ALDAR to build high quality, fully integrated residential cities for the workers in the United Arab Emirates. Several studies have been conducted to ensure that the infrastructure will handle the expected traffic and population numbers. ALDAR will start work immediately on the development, which will be completed in phases up to 2009.
ZonesCorp's mission is for specialized economic zones to provide all stakeholders with the best services that will add value to their work and to promote and develop the economic investment in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The agreement is a culmination of the government, ZonesCorp and ALDAR's commitment to providing the best quality of life for the many workers that reside across the UAE.
"The agreement signals a commitment to the innumerable hard workers of Al Ain and the United Arab Emirates. It is important that the various types of workers are housed properly and their accommodations are maintained carefully as they are a very important aspect in the development of our country. ALDAR will ensure that the standard of the residential cities are on par with the organization's other high quality projects. The residential city will address the issue of rapid growth and development,"
said Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman, ALDAR.
"The workers residential city in Al Ain will provide much needed quality accommodation for the town's workers. The major agreement with ALDAR, will implement and ensure global standards and international specifications throughout the project and we are in consultation with major industry leaders to ensure the best possible quality. We understand the vision of the country's leaders and we intend to ensure that we build a secure and stable community. We are very proud to be involved in this project and it shows both organisations' commitment to the entire UAE," said Mr. Jaber Hareb Al Khaili, Acting CEO, ZonesCorp.
The workers accommodation project in Al Ain complements an initial agreement to develop the same high quality residential city in Abu Dhabi. Details of the project in Abu Dhabi are to be confirmed in due course.
