The Environmental Public Authority of Kuwait (EPA) recognizes its responsibility towards the environment, and requires its suppliers and contractors to have proper regards to EPA's Environmental Policy in respect to the products and services they provide.

In order to align with EPA's objectives, Trane's free Seminar, focused on how to make buildings more comfortable and productive for occupants while using less energy and reducing operating costs. The event was attended by ministries, facility owners, contractors, consultants, and maintenance & service companies.

During the four hour session, Trane representatives from the regional head quarters explained how scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems allows facility maintenance professionals to lower operating costs by extending the life of their system, reducing the risk of early equipment failure and avoiding unscheduled down time.

The seminar also focused on how to select the right water cooled centrifugal chiller for a building, in order to achieve a lower total cost of ownership. In addition, Trane applications engineers clearly outlined the criteria for environmentally responsible refrigerant selection. The importance of controls in the building management process was also highlighted. Controls is the element that converts a group of products into a system and continues to monitor & manage the building for optimal performance.

'An energy efficient building costs less to operate, and provides a superior indoor environment and improved energy efficiency, resulting in a significant financial return,' Said Elias Shamy, Kuwait Country Leader, Trane. 'Criteria for energy efficient buildings include the use of technology and process to create a building that is safer and more productive for its occupants and more operationally efficient for its owners '.

As part of Trane's continuous efforts and commitment to meeting the growing need of construction with responsible comfort solutions, Trane works closely with local Green Building Councils. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the certification standard adopted by the different Green Building Councils worldwide, it provides a benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings and gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance.

Trane has provided cooling and heating systems and services to customers in the Middle East, Africa and India for over 50 years; enhancing their indoor and outdoor environments through improved indoor air quality, acoustics and energy efficient performance.
