The Center for Management & Professional Development (CMPD), the community outreach arm of the University of Dubai, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry delivered a three day workshop on 'Directing Strategic Change and Improvement in Modern Organizations' for a group of Senior Executives from the public and private sector who are visiting Dubai from Romania.
A total of 15 participants, leaders in their organization, are in the process of planning/implementing change within their organization. This three day program was thus designed to provide them with a good understanding of the concepts, processes and tools needed to actually implement change in their organization.
Day I covered, the responsibility of managers for strategic change and improvement, determining the change needs of an organisation, the change objectives, targets and skills, developing improvement strategies, involving the organisation in change and improvement, dealing with responses to change and uncertainty, and finally turning change into a habit of continuous improvement in an organisation
Day 2 focused more on the Change Implementation with emphasis on the tools and templates needed to ensure successful implementation.
Finally Day 3 the participants were provided 2 case studies, which allowed them to apply all the concepts and through group discussions and syndication present their findings.
Dr. Omar Hefni, President of UD said "The Center for Management and Professional Development at UD is making great strides in bringing such overseas group to Dubai and providing them with relevant concepts, practical and hands on skills and sharing best management practices. This is good for the University of Dubai and good for Dubai too, which is known worldwide as the tourism destination and now rapidly gaining repute for being the hub for knowledge acquisition"
Usha Kaul Saraf, Manager, CMPD said, "The training program was delivered in a seminar format, which maximized instructor-participant interaction. The facilitators used to deliver the workshop were a team of professional university professors and professional practitioners who possessed both the academic and the practical expertise, and were thus able to share their valuable experiences with the participants".
Mr. Florin Bocioaca, President, OKSC, said "CMPD always exceeds our expectations in both areas i.e. quality of delivery and accurately assessing the training needs and customizing the courses to meet our requirements. I greatly appreciate their efforts and we will be back in November for training another group from the public sector.
