- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, May 12 - 2007 at 09:53
- PRESS RELEASE
The region's electronics industry looks set to receive a healthy boost next month when the The Electronics Group (TEG) addresses the at the Hometech exhibition; the Middle East's largest trade fair for consumer technology.
Ms. Suman Manning-Lizotte, Show Manager for Hometech, believes that TEG's participation will provide the perfect platform for exploring best practice for the region's burgeoning consumer electronics industry. "We are very pleased to announce the presentation by Mr. Al Shirawi, Chairman of TEG at next month's Hometech exhibition, she says. "TEG is the official body representing the lifestyle electronics market across the UAE and they have a wealth of knowledge and expertise relating to the consumer electronics market across the region. Their inclusion at Hometech means that for the first time ever, professionals involved in all aspects of the industry will be able to perceive the value of TEG's Data Centre - a database of detailed and up-to-date information on actual sales trend in the UAE; a rarity in this part of the world," she adds. "TEG's involvement will no doubt be of a huge benefit for everyone involved in the region's home entertainment and lifestyle electronics trade," she remarks.
As the official organisation for the consumer electronics industry in the UAE, TEG functions to promote the electronics trade across the emirates by enhancing professionalism and by making the industry more globally competitive and locally efficient. It also serves to protect the consumer by establishing fair business practices and ensuring the sale of genuine, high quality products; either produced locally or imported through proper channels. "TEG is the leading authority and the sole officially sanctioned body for lifestyle electronics in this part of the world," says Ms. Manning-Lizotte. "It presents to the UAE Government the point of view of the electronics trade in all matters relating to the improvement, promotion and control of the electronics business in the emirates and thereby strengthens the country's reputation for quality and service," she adds.
The CEA represents approximately 1,200 companies in the United States and their presence in Dubai at Hometech marks a historic first for the organisation and the city. The group will have a dedicated pavilion at Hometech, where it will showcase the latest trends and current popular applications in lifestyle electronics. One particular display is titled 'Innovations' and examines the newest industry offerings and a glimpse of the future in this rapidly progressing market. "The innovations stand will be looking at tomorrow's technology today," says Ms. Manning-Lizotte. "There are a number of exciting new developments, which will outline the future direction of this ever-evolving market," she says.
Hometech Middle East opens its doors from May 13-15 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East for household technology, home automation and domestic electrical appliances.
