The workshop, held at the Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa, is designed to help sensitize team members from BEC and the GIA Unit to behavioural issues that may contribute toward or obstruct group problem solving and enhance communication between team members.

Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Director, Group Internal Audit and the Business Excellence Centre, said: "We live in a society that seems fascinated with individual accomplishment and is almost oblivious to the importance of teams. Team building is essential to help our clients develop their business and also ensure that our colleagues understand the strengths of the people they work with on a day-to-day basis. We strongly believe that great teamwork makes things happen more than anything else in organizations and people working as teams are a powerful force, more potent than skills, processes and policies."

The day-long event was conducted by Tricia Evans, a Dubai-based management coach who has extensive experience in conducting team-building workshops, and featured strategic exercises designed to tackle vital issues such as time management, delegation of tasks and communication skills.

The workshop was part of a series of sessions planned by BEC for this year to spread awareness about building a dynamic team that can contribute positively to the growth of Dubai World .
