Saudi Arabia covers world tourism in new media

Prince Saud bin Faisal bin Musaid bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz has announced the official launching of a new media on world tourism called as "World Tourism News" (WTN) on May 9th 2007 in Jeddah.

The new bilingual (Arabic/English) media will reflect the Saudi tourism developments along with the boom in tourism around the world, said Prince Saud, the Chairman for Saudi Investment & Development Group, which owns the media aiming to provide latest tourism information for the readers.

During the ceremony, the Prince signed a contract that declares Mrs. Ahlam Al Salimoni, as a Partner and General Manager of the group in addition to act as the Chief Editor for WTN Magazine.

Referring to the group activities, Mrs.Ahlam Al Salimoni said, the Group will work for media, public relations, advertising, research and development and added that Business Development Manager of Group of Mr.Jahangir has recently finalized an agreement, allowing Alawi Tunsi Group to acquire latest digital publishing technology. The group will keep research and developmental task to introduce new technologies in the Kingdom.

Mrs. Ahlam Al Salimoni said, the WTN, which will hit the market every month, will display information covering all aspects of tourism including new projects, investment scopes in tourism, technologies, destination information and expert opinions. All the issues of the Magazine will come up with one Arabic and one non Arabic destination as references for tourism. In the first issue, the new media (WTN) will cover Jeddah and Berlin as the destinations, she announced. She thanked Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Prince Ahmed and Prince Misha'al for there encouragement.

Mrs. Ahlam said, the WTN is the result of many unsuccessful attempts to bring out an exclusive Tourism Magazine from the Kingdom. However, the WTN, as it enjoys the support of several business sectors, will gain all the success, she asserted in the launching ceremony, which witnessed several attendants including consulates, diplomatic representatives, journalists, businessmen and a large part of woman community and tourism officials and experts.
