TNT appoints Watson as National Operations Manager in Bahrain

TNT Express, the world's leading B2B express delivery company, has appointed Andrew Watson as its National Operations Manager in Bahrain.

British born Watson, (34), joins TNT with 15 years international industry experience, a third of which was gained holding similar positions in the Kingdoms of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, acquiring excellent knowledge of the local market.

"Andy will head up around 40 employees, and manage both our country operations as well as our road and air hubs," said Ahmed Gamal, Country Manager-Bahrain, TNT Express.

"His main responsibility will be to maintain TNT's high level of operational output by differentiating us from our competitors in terms of the quality of service we provide for inbound and outbound shipments."

Watson will be focusing on developing new processes and procedures which will contribute to service improvements in the country, as well as forging relationships with customs, airlines and airport handlers.

"Our Bahrain business grew by more than 50% in 2006, and we're expecting similar growth in 2007. By employing people who fully understand our business, we will fulfil our clients' rising expectations as their number one global logistics provider, and Andy's extensive industry knowledge will be a tremendous asset to our fast growing network," added Gamal.
