The new centre was opened under the Auspices of H.E. Mr. Sami Haddad, Minister of Economy and Trade and in the presence of H.E. Mr. Patrick Laurent, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission.
With 44 centres in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the HP MAP initiative is designed to speed up the economic development in communities around the world and share best practice and expertise.
The centres show SMB employees how to understand different technology solutions that address a range of challenges businesses face in the areas of management and operations, finances, communication and marketing.
Serdar Urcar, General Manager, PSG, HP Middle East, said: 'The HP MAP centers are fitted with the latest generation of IT equipment and are provided with a new curriculum on 'Smart Technology for Smart Business'. At HP, we aim to upgrade the philosophy and performance of micro-enterprises to help them meet growing challenges both on the domestic and international levels.
'The MAP Network provides SMB's with many benefits for its members, including the possibility to participate in EU co-funded programs, access to marketing brochures and collateral for promotional activity and full access to the trainers. The course is not designed to replace any of the existing certified courses, but equip entrepreneurs to make better decisions on a range of issues surrounding the integration of technology into business', added Urcar.
HP has equipped the centres with professional trainers to coach participants at a later stage, to successfully overcome the challenges by using advanced technology and HP facilities.
Facilities allow them to evaluate and upgrade their skills, evaluate the need for additional training to ensure ongoing development.
