CBB, Bahrain Financial Services Development to host Bahrain Country Showcase

The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and Bahrain Financial Services Development (BFSD) of the Economic Development Board (EDB) have joined hands to showcase Bahrain's leadership in the area of Islamic banking and finance.
Mr. Al Maraj will make a welcome address at the Bahrain Country Showcase, which will also feature presentations by Mr. Khalid Hamad, Executive Director, Banking Supervision, at the CBB and Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Senior Business Development Officer, at the BFSD.
They will highlight Bahrain's strengths and initiatives in Islamic finance to a high profile, focused group of potential investors and stakeholders.
Mr. Hamad will focus on the development of Islamic finance in Bahrain and the CBB's regulatory and market development initiatives in advancing this segment of the financial services industry.
Shaikh Mohamed will highlight the current developments in Bahrain, particularly those related to Bahrain's financial services sector. The presentation will highlight the attractiveness of the regulatory environment, competitive factors; costs; infrastructure; and the excellent lifestyle Bahrain offers, as a modern economy.
The Bahrain Country Showcase is being held as part of the 4th Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Summit, which takes place on 15 & 16 May 2007, under the theme 'The Need for A Cross Sectoral Approach to the Supervision of Islamic Financial Services'.
