24.1 million Omantel's net profit up as of Marsh 2007

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has announced 13 on May 2007 a net profit after tax of RO 24.1 million for the first quarter of 2007 compared with RO 21.4 million in the same period of last year, an increase of 12.7 per cent.
The operating expenses increased by 10.2 % and reached RO 58.5 million compared with RO 53.1 million of the same period of last year. The increase in operating expenses is in line with the increase of company's activities and to prepare to the upcoming competition in fixed line services.
The earning per share (EPS) as of March 2007 stood at 32 baisas, which is %12.7 higher than the corresponding period of last year.
