It was the first year the Centre welcomed over 9.3 million visitors and sales increased by 19% compared to the previous year. A record high of over 23,000 customers registered with the Centre as members of the loyalty programme - The Sharjah City Centre Value Card Programe, in the same year the Centre also scooped the Golden Crescent Award for the 'best promotional campaign' during the Sharjah Ramadan Festival.
'This success seems to be continuing into 2007 with footfall up by 7% and sales increasing by 16% in the first quarter of the year. However the success of Sharjah City Centre is not possible without support from the retailers who really are the stars of the Centre and our retailer awards attempts to reward their hard work and support. The criteria for the awards are based on sales performance, operational compliance and customer service philosophy,'
said Yousif Al Ali, General Manager Sharjah City Centre.
