Dubai Quality Award Secretariat organises 'Share Best Practice 2007' Conference & Exhibition

The Dubai Quality Award (DQA) Secretariat at the Department of Economic Development (DED) in co-operation with the Dubai Quality Group (DQG) announced that the 'Share Best Practice 2007' Conference & Exhibition will be held at Grand Hyatt Hotel on May 21st.

The full-day conference and exhibition organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates Group, is expected to attract more than 400 delegates.

International quality award recipients, as well as, winners of the DQA 2006 will address the conference. The international speakers include Paul Ellis, Director of Business Excellence at TNT Express, winner of the European Excellence Award, and Jane Keeley, Head of Business Excellence at RICOH UK Ltd, winner of the British Quality Award.

"The conference aims at promoting the culture of quality and excellence in performance in Dubai. Through the 'Share Best Practice 2007', attendees will have the opportunity to benefit from the detailed presentations of best practices presented by members of the winning companies of the DQA 2006,"


said Khalid Al Kassim, Deputy Director General for Planning and Development at DED.

"The conference, which is held annually in collaboration with the Dubai Quality Group, plays a vital role in encouraging more organisations from all sectors in Dubai to participate in the Dubai Quality Award and reach the highest level of quality according to international standards," added Al Kassim.

"The willingness of leading organisations to share their expertise with the rest of the business community demonstrates their corporate social responsibility. The Dubai Quality Group aims to further foster this co-operation among Dubai's business community to ensure its continued development," said Mr. Marwan Al Sawaleh, Chairman, DQG.

The DQA Secretariat will distribute a book containing the best practices submitted by the 2006 award winners to delegates at the conference. The book will include detailed entries on each of the award winners, thus enabling potential applicants to get an insight into the benefits of applying for the award.

The 13 DQA winners for the last cycle include Acer Computer (ME) Limited, Al Khaleej Sugar (L.L.C), Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Emaar Properties PJSC, Dubai Oil Mills Company, International Rubber Company, National Cables Industry, Dubai Women's College, Dubai Medical College for Girls, HSBC Middle East Finance Company Ltd, UAE Exchange Centre, Apparel (L.L.C), and Interactive Insurance Brokers Company (L.L.C).

A specialised exhibition, which includes booths for the DQA winners, will be organised alongside the 'Share Best Practice 2007' Conference.
