The purpose of the event was to honor organizations that provided internship opportunities for UD students in the past five years, and to thank them for the time and effort invested in guiding and supervising the internees during their internship periods.

The event was inaugurated by Dr M. Omar Hefni, UD President, who welcomed the invitees and briefed them on the progress made at UD.

"The hundreds of internship opportunities provided by the invited organizations to UD students in the last five years has been a real contribution by the business community for the applied educational experiences of the UD students," he said.

According to Ms Amina Elmarzak, Manager, UD Career Development Services Center, the university considers student internship as one of the most important platforms that brings together the institution, students and the workplace. UD students are required to do their internships in their field of specialization before they graduate, as part of their degree requirements.

At UD, interns take the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and apply them to real-life work situations, and learn from professionals while they explore and assess career options.
