On this Occasion Mr. Ali Shareef Al Emadi, Acting Chief Executive of QNB said,
"This excellent rating assigned to QNB is the result of the continuous hard work the Bank has been doing serving its customers through the development and enhancement of its products and services in addition to its long term ambitious vision."
In a Press Release issued on Monday, 14 May 2007, Standard & Poor's indicated that this credit rating was due to QNB's leading position in the banking sector, strong income generated by high quality assets and its solid liquidity and capital position.
It is important to mention that QNB also has a high credit rating from leading rating agencies. In October 2006, Capital Intelligence raised QNB's long-term ratings to "A+" from "A". Also, last October, Moody's raised QNB's long term rating to "Aa3" from "A-1", which is also the highest in the region.
