BJ Services announced that Gary Broiles was recently appointed CIS area manager with the Well Services Division in the Middle East Region.
Broiles, 43, joined BJ Services in 1995 when BJ bought The Western Company, where he had worked since 1981. During that time, he had been employed in Texas in a number of technical, operations, engineering and production management roles. Since then, he has worked for BJ Services' Well Services Division as Nigeria Country Manager in Port Harcourt. Prior to his appointment to the position of CIS area manager, Broiles served for over five years as UK country manager in Aberdeen, Scotland.
A native of Texas, Broiles earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 1981. Broiles has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1982. He is based at the BJ Services Country Head Office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and reports to Louis Steinke, region manager - Middle East Region for the Well Services Division of BJ Services.
"In view of BJ's ongoing global expansion programme, we are very keen to build upon the company's successful entry into the CIS market. Currently, we are carrying out a number of well services operations in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan," said Louis Steinke. "With Gary's in-depth experience in well services, I am confident that he will ensure that our existing customers in the CIS continue to receive outstanding service, and effectively nurture new relationships with operators throughout the region as opportunities arise," he added.
