DUBAL Laboratory takes top honours
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 16 - 2007 at 10:57
- PRESS RELEASE
The analytical laboratory at Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL), the world's seventh largest producer of premium quality aluminium, has proved its world-class capabilities by achieving the best results in a proficiency test co-ordinated by R&D Company.
A field of twelve laboratories from across the globe took part. Each laboratory received fourteen samples of coke material for analysis of different elemental impurities. The scope of the exercise - both in terms of the large number of samples and the potential range of impurities at both high and low concentrations - truly tested the competency of the participating facilities. Undaunted, the DUBAL laboratory maintained its customary high performance standards and, after submitting a report detailing the seven major elemental impurities detected in each sample, emerged as the top contender.
"These results confirm the superior abilities of our laboratory, developed through a process of continuous improvement," said Khalid Buhumaid, General Manager Corporate Relations & International Affairs and the official spokesman of DUBAL.
"While we are very pleased to have been ranked number one in this benchmarking exercise, we will not allow ourselves to be complacent. Instead, we will use the test results internally to monitor the strength of the laboratory's performance; improve any areas of weakness; and examine our employees' capabilities. We will also apply them externally to ensure that we achieve and maintain high assurance levels from our raw material suppliers."
