The UAE Ministry of state for Federal National Council Affairs (MSFNCA) recently participated in the 1st Summit for Undersecretaries and assistant undersecretaries, on the topic of institutional excellence.
The summit was inaugurated by H.E Eng Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Development for the Government Sector, and held in cooperation with the Dubai School of Government.
The Summit is part of a specialised programme created to develop the skills of senior administration leaders in the federal ministries and enhance the culture of excellence within the federal government. The program is designed to accelerate implementation of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program.
Mr. Tariq Hilal Lootah, Secretary-General of the MSFNCA, and Dr. Said Al-Ghufli, Assistant Secretary General, participated in the summit. Mr. Lootah and Dr. Al-Ghufli expressed their keen interest in utilizing the Excellence Program to guide the development of the MSFNCA's internal performance.
"The Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program is the main driver in improving the systems, performance and services at our ministry. It has enabled us to define best practices in our role as coordinators between the Federal National Council and the ministerial cabinet. Our mandate also extends beyond coordination and activation of the FNC to encouraging a political participation culture in the UAE, as outlined by President Sheikh Khalifa's modernization plan. It is therefore very important to use the excellence program to guide our internal development," added Lootah.
MSFNCA team members also attended a three day workshop specialized to develop the technical skills of quality and excellence teams across ministries, and to support the requirements of Sheikh Khalifa excellence program. Ministry team members are responsible for spreading the culture of excellence and preparing work methodologies and systems in order to achieve target results.
"We believe that in order to fulfil our mandate as envisioned by H.H. President Sheikh Khalifa we must utilize the Excellence Program and are therefore committed to participation in these summits and workshops," said Mr. Lootah.
