RTA's participates at Gardens and Landscaping 2007

The stand of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the Gardens and Landscaping Exhibition, Middle East 2007, which was organized in the Dubai World Trade Center over three days, attracted a large number of visitors and specialist in the gardening and landscaping.
Engineer Maithaa Bin Aday, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency of RTA reaffirmed that importance of the exhibition is it is the first of its kind organized in the Middle East and the choosing Dubai as its venue stems from its location's importance as an international center for exhibitions and conferences. It is also held coinciding with Dubai's experience of unprecedented development in the urban field from which new residential areas, roads, streets and squares arise all over Dubai that obliges to create a harmonized urban environment addressing the future needs and aspirations of Dubai.
While reviewing the efforts in landscaping the roads and to increase the green areas in the city, Bin Adai pointed out that the RTA has developed a plan for implementing landscaping projects according to the type and condition of the road, as on highways special plants which can stand as wind buffers to reduce the dust and to help on the long run in the desertification fighting, while for the internal roads plants of multiple functions will be used which has a good scenery and to contribute in tempering the air, reduce environmental pollutants and dust, and to reduce the noise, moderated temperatures.
She said that the RTA will focus on planting trees in the lanes used by pedestrians and cyclists to encourage the use of it. These process are being one under supervision of consultants, moreover workshops are being conducted to learn about international best practices in developed countries which have similar climate conditions.
Eng Maitha explained that the work of agriculture plastic Roads include all activities related to the planting of trees and plants, in addition to the landscape of green plastic from the class and paved pedestrian areas and supplied with electricity and shaded places and places to sit on the campus of the road and the provision of cinder been in residential areas and the area for biking to encourage residents and visitors to exercise Sport walk, and allow these acts cosmetic designs dynamic sense of beauty and comfort of road users.
She pointed the RTA interests to aesthetic the streets and to increase the green areas is a part of its efforts to promote and support the tourism sector in Dubai, especially as landscaping includes aesthetic the beaches surrounding areas and public squares which attracts tourists. In the framework of the RTA efforts to maintain the existing local plants within the design elements when implementing the new projects.
