'King and Queen of Sahara' attracts shoppers, increases foot traffic to 40 per cent
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, May 17 - 2007 at 10:26
- PRESS RELEASE
The lure of being treated like royalty has proved a big drawcard for shoppers at Sahara Centre with a 40 per cent increase in foot traffic at the mall during the first month of the latest promotion - the 'King and Queen of Sahara'.
It won't be a "one-off" experience for the two lucky winners because the prize packs are designed to provide some continuing regal experiences over the period of a year.
The King and Queen of Sahara promotion runs until May 31 when two lucky shoppers will win some fancy on and off-road transportation and AED 20,000 prize adventure packages truly fit for royalty.
The promotion offers a Mini Cooper Cabrio convertible and jet ski on trailer for the Queen of Sahara to enjoy herself at the beach, as well as a package of water activities, health and beauty spa treatments, that will keep her feeling on top of the world for the following 12 months. The beach adventure package includes a luxury yacht fishing experience, canoeing, scuba diving, parasailing, water skiing, open water course and Queen Day Spa and many more.
The King of Sahara will win a Wrangler Jeep and quad bike on trailer, complemented by Dream Days airborne and driving adventure-based activities. He will be able to indulge some of his wildest fantasies with the use of a Ferrari for 24 hours as part of his prize pack as well as desert adventures such as rock climbing, eight-wheel driving, dune buggy safari, full day desert hiking, balloon flight, sky diving, and helicopter sightseeing and many more.
Sahara Centre Marketing Manager Rima Chammas says she feels the promotion is going so well because customers appreciate the thought that they could be named King or Queen. "It is all about emotions and the total experience," she says.
"As well as providing these wonderful prizes for two lucky shoppers, we've organised a whole range of in-mall entertainment over the period of the promotion," Rima Chammas said. "There will be something of interest for all members of the family."
The in-mall edutainment is based on a space theme. "Space Travellers" takes the concept of a voyager through the solar system and includes a Kids Mini Story, Space Show with the famous Zynchento Family, StarLab Dome Interactive sessions in a real planetarium while walking through a tunnel and getting a 360-degree panoramic view of the universe, Space Workshop Zone and Shuttle Exhibition where visitors will be introduced to different shuttles to discover space.
The promotion will run until May 19 from 6-9 pm daily in the promotions area.
