Japanese firms into Dubai

Japanese banks and other companies are becoming increasingly involved in Dubai's rapidly expanding economy, reported Emirates Today. The Mizuho Corporate Bank and the Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi are expected to open branches in the city shortly, following the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp and Daiwa Securities earlier in the year. Meanwhile several Japanese consortia have secured major contracts such as the construction of The Palm's monorail and the Dubai Metro.
