Qanat Al Qasba, the region's premier cultural and family entertainment hub will host Avin musical concerts, which come as part of QAQ's ongoing 'Iranian Art Festival' which started on the 10th of May and will continue until the 30th of May, featuring prominent names in the Iranian art circle.
The Avin Group which is the first all girls Iranian music group, was founded by Mahoor Ahmadi on September 2001 in Tehran and has has performed in concerts held in Tehran, Italy and France. The musicians use traditional instruments such as the Taar, Kamanche, Tonbak, Daf and Santour. Traditional music is played but modern style music is added to it, giving new dimensions of feelings and depth.
The Avin Group which holds the membership of well educated artists, such as Vahide Isaee a Bachelor of Arts (BA) graduate in Music from the Fine Arts College of the University of Tehran, Nayan Sahihi who has an associate degree in music from the Science and Application University in Tehran, Saghar Khadem a computer engineer with a degree from Payam-e-Noor University, Mahoor Ahmadi, the founder of Avin group in 2001 graduated from Tehran Music School with a diploma in playing the Taar. Sophia Ketabi a holder of an associate degree from the Science and Application University in Tehran and Mahgol Emamian who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English literature from Al Zahra University.
The 'Iranian Art Festival' also includes some breathtaking works of painters, photographers and sculptures exhibited at Maraya Al Qanat. The artists, who are part of the DENA group, which aims at introducing Iranian women artists to Iran and abroad as professionals with independent outlooks, include Arya Eghbal, Raana Farnoud, Farah Ossouli, Gigella Varga Sinai, Maryam Shirinlou, Massoumeh Mozaffari, Mitra Kavian, Shahrzad Ossouli, Naghmeh Ghassemlou, Azli Zare and Yasmin Sinia.
The 'Iranian Art Festival', which is a cultural bridge in all respects, will be an on-going event at the QAQ until the 30th of May, 2007.
