Limitless, the global integrated real estate arm of Dubai World, is underpinning its commitment to the Far East by participating at the inaugural Cityscape China which takes place at INTEX in Shanghai on 24-26 May 2007. The Dubai-based developer is eyeing China as a strategic future market, and will showcase its current projects, including its flagship development, Downtown Jebel Ali, at the exhibition.
Limitless, which master plans, designs and develops distinctive, sustainable urban communities will use Cityscape China as a platform to create brand awareness and generate new business opportunities in China.
Mark Jared, Business Development Manager for Limitless in China, said: 'Exhibiting at Cityscape underscores our intention to form a strategic relationship between Dubai and China. We are already negotiating a major project in Qingdao, and are considering others in Tianjin and Shanghai. Cityscape will give us the chance to tell the Limitless story to more potential partners and investors in the region.
The size of the Chinese market has been well documented, with 20 per cent real estate growth per annum since 1995, over 750 cities to be built over the next 15 years and 2,520 projects either planned or currently under construction, including waterfront developments, industrial free zones, 'techno' cities and tourism projects on a monumental scale unique anywhere in the world.
To keep pace with China's burgeoning population growth, some 500 to 600 million square metres of residential real estate needs to built every year for the next two decades, presenting huge challenges for architects, urban planners, developers and city governments.
'Our unique ability to create large scale, mixed-use urban developments means that we are ideally placed to help China to fulfill its long term plans for growth. What Limitless is able to offer fits naturally with what China requires as it progresses towards greater urbanisation,' added Jared.
Current projects for Limitless in Dubai include Downtown Jebel Ali, a 200 hectare, 11 kilometre long, mixed-use urban development, with an estimated value of USD 13 billion. The company is also master developing Jumeirah Village, in Dubai, a residential and commercial development spread over 811 hectares.
Neil Hickman, Exhibition Director, commented, 'Limitless is yet another major developer to participate at Cityscape China. Even by global standards many developments in Dubai are spectacular and with China in an almost permanent state of urbanisation, large scale mixed-use developers such as Limitless will be very much in demand.'
