AUD's Visual Communication Department holds Senior Exhibition
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 20 - 2007 at 13:28
- PRESS RELEASE
Thirteen students of the Visual Communication Department of the American University in Dubai displayed their best works at the annual Senior Student Exhibition.
The exhibition represented projects that were conceived through brainstorming and thorough research. The final designs were refined and improved through a process of regularly conducted critique sessions held in class under the guidance of the professors and in collaboration with fellow classmates.
Among the disciplines presented in this year's exhibition were Graphic Design, Creative Advertising, and Photography.
The exhibition entitled "Made", which ran from April 29 until May 6, was attended by a huge crowd of art lovers and particularly AUD students and parents who were eager to see the works of their fellow students and children.
Roberto Lopardo, Chair of Visual Communication and Assistant Professor of Photography commented: "It is a rewarding experience to not have to evaluate the progress of student work but rather to spend the moment admiring the development of raw talent into mature, confident exclamations of complex creativity. This year's exhibition presented the Visual Communications faculty at AUD with just such a moment. The student work exhibited is conceptually and theoretically well-informed and thoroughly relevant to contemporary trends in the field in both its approach and execution."
The tremendous scope of this year's exhibition is, in large part, a result of the tireless efforts of Roberto Lopardo, Huda Abifares, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, and Krassen Krestev, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design.
