The EOS-1D Mark III received the Best D-SLR Professional award, the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM was named Best Professional Lens, the SELPHY ES1 took the Best Small Format Photo Printer prize, while the All-In-One PIXMA MP810 was awarded Best Multifunction Photo Printer.

The TIPA awards come at a time when Canon are in number one position in the Western European digital camera market for the fifth consecutive year, confirming Canon's popularity with consumers and critics alike.

"We are delighted to receive this recognition from TIPA," says Hendrik Verbrugghe, CCI Manager, Canon Middle East. "Canon's product development philosophy is based around creating innovative, attractive, class-leading products for all users, from complete beginners to leading professionals. This wide-ranging expertise is reflected in the products recognised by TIPA: from the professional EOS-1D Mark III to the consumer focused SELPHY ES1 and PIXMA MP810 photo printers."

Best D-SLR Professional in Europe 2007: EOS-1D Mark III

The world's fastest D-SLR was highly praised by the TIPA judges for its ability to capture professional quality images at incredible speed. "This is an impressive D-SLR that shoots at a staggering 10 frames per second with a full resolution of 10MP," they said. The camera's Dual "DIGIC III" processors drive its high speed, high resolution performance, and bring 14-bit image processing to the EOS series for the first time. The judges continued: "It also offers a 19-point autofocus system, a weather-sealed body, a triple mode sensor cleaning system, a permanent Live View mode and a full complement of user-defined custom functions. All this adds up to greater control and enhanced creativity for the working photographer, making the Canon EOS-1D Mark III the ideal tool for professional sport, action and wildlife photography."

Best Professional Lens in Europe 2007: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is set to become the ultra wide-angle zoom of choice for professionals. "The new Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM has been redesigned to deliver higher contrast levels and improved resolving power to the professional user," commented the TIPA judges. "To ensure edge-to-edge sharpness and contrast throughout the focal range, the weatherproof lens includes three types of aspherical lens elements (ground, replicated and glass moulded). To round off, a near circular aperture allows for superb rendition of out-of-focus areas."

Best Small Format Photo Printer in Europe 2007: Canon SELPHY ES1

The TIPA judges praised the innovative SELPHY ES1 for its best-in-class photo printing quality. "The Canon SELPHY ES1 sports a new all-in-one ink and media cassette, with one-touch operation for greater ease of use," they said. "This convenient system also reduces the risk of spoiled prints, because the paper is not exposed to dust. The SELPHY ES1 incorporates Canon's DIGIC II image processor, based on the same technology used in Canon's professional digital SLRs, for near-instant start up and fast operation. A new print head controller allows the SELPHY ES1 to achieve a class-leading print resolution for dye-sublimation printers of 300x600dpi."

Best Multifunction Photo Printer in Europe 2007: Canon PIXMA MP810

The versatile PIXMA MP810 Photo All-In-One received high commendation for its quality, speed and ease of use. "The Canon PIXMA MP810 Photo All-In-One offers consumers a versatile device that can deliver 4800dpi colour scans, and can produce a photo-lab quality 4x6in borderless photo in approximately 21 seconds," said the TIPA judges. "The MP810 is also easy to use. Canon has reduced the number of buttons by approximately half compared to competing multifunction models." Incorporating Canon's unique Easy-Scroll Wheel controller, this is a key product in helping to move PIXMA All-In-Ones out of the office, and into the home.
