Mobile Application Contest winners to showcase creations at Etisalat GULFCOMMS 2007 stand

In a move to encourage the participants of the National Mobile Application Contest (NMAC), Etisalat has invited the winners and runners-up of the recently-concluded 2007 edition to demonstrate their creations at Etisalat's stand at GULFCOMMS 2007, in September this year.

Etisalat University College organized NMAC 2007 and sponsors included Etisalat, Nokia, and the UAE's Telecom Regulatory Authority. Khalifa Al Shamsi, Vice President Marketing- Consumer & SMB, Etisalat, said: "We cannot stress enough the importance of the NMAC in acknowledging and nurturing the talent of youth around the nation. We believe that by providing them with the additional exposure of demonstrating their projects at a focused event like GULFCOMMS will aid them in their careers, their outlook towards the business of technology, and bring them a better understanding of the needs of the community."

The winning team was from the Etisalat University College represented by Khaled Younes, who created a Mobile Remote Surveillance System. The second place winner was the American University of Sharjah team, represented by Sahar Sheideh, Nancy Salem, and Omar L. Omar. Their application was Mobile Stock-X. The team in third place was also from Etisalat University College, and they were represented by Essa Ibrahim. His application was Context -Aware framework for mobile learning.
