  • PRESS RELEASE

Global IT solutions and services provider, 3i Infotech has been selected by Gates Fleximak, a division of the Gates Corporation from Denver Colorado, the World's Most Trusted Name in Belts, Hose, Hydraulics and Related Services, for its flagship ERP offering - ORION - to help augment its regional business and facilitate rapid return on investments.

Gates Fleximak, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and represented in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, chose ORION to address its need for a highly scalable and adaptable solution.

"We were looking for an end-to-end solution that would not only help streamline our existing processes but also provide powerful and flexible tools, which require less manual effort, to scale up profitability and position the business for growth," said Neil A. Ferguson, Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, Gates Fleximak. "ORION's inbuilt distribution capabilities and online data visibility options, including the Mobile Van Sales module make it the best fit for us.

"The Middle East and Africa are important target markets for us. 3i Infotech's localised support structure and understanding of our business requirements played a significant part in our decision to go with its ERP offering - ORION."

ORION will provide Gates Fleximak with enhanced distribution and reporting capabilities. The system's automation module will ensure real-time data and resource utilisation reporting of the company's huge inventory of 50,000 stock keeping units, across 32 locations, including more than 25 on vans.

ORION's automation module uses handheld technology, which will ensure Gates Fleximak's mobile workforce receives real-time information and updates anywhere and anytime and responds instantly to market and customer requirements.

"With the regional economy experiencing massive growth, we are seeing a strong demand for our product lines across all sectors. To cope with this, 3i Infotech is ideally placed to provide Gates Fleximak with the domain expertise required to increase productivity and cost savings, while maintaining high service levels," said Kalpesh Desai, Chief Operating Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, 3i Infotech.

3i Infotech will also provide Gates Fleximak with round-the-clock support through its Middle East dedicated service centre, based in Sharjah.

"We are confident ORION's scalable platform and powerful functionalities, coupled with our powerful localised service capabilities, will act as the technology backbone for Gates Fleximak to expand its regional footprint," said Ashish Dass, VP & Business Head - Enterprise Solutions, 3i Infotech (EMEA).
