Etisalat introduces MobileCAM surveillance service for UAE homes and small and medium businesses

The new service is the first of its kind in the UAE and is available today.

Etisalat 3G MobleCAM provides anytime, anywhere access to video footage and video call services to a home or office. Etisalat 3G MobileCAM also allows customers to hold a conversation as its camera device has an installed microphone and speaker.

To use MobileCAM, customers must first purchase an Etisalat 3G MobileCAM device from any of the Etisalat Business Centers or key retailers around the UAE. They must also acquire either a prepaid or postpaid 3G SIM card for the MobileCAM. A customer should call the camera from a 3G or 3.5G-enabled handset to activate the device. There are no subscription charges, no installation fees and no subscription charges for 3G customers.

"Etisalat 3G MobileCAM is an innovative product, providing an accessible security solution for all consumers and business owners. MobileCAM is extremely versatile and can be installed at home or at work nationally and internationally," said Essa Al Haddad, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat.

"At Etisalat, we are committed to introducing the most advanced technologies that meet our customers' needs. Etisalat is the first operator in the country to make MobileCAM available to its customers", he added.

Etisalat has 30 international roaming partners, meaning that homeowners can keep track of their properties, or managers can monitor their businesses from around the world. The service is also to be marketed to young families, who can monitor their children, nannies and cleaners.

"We are introducing the product today to provide holidaymakers and new homeowners a convenient and accessible security solution. We also expect entrepreneurs owners to be amongst the early adopters," Essa Al Haddad continued.

Etisalat has taken great care to ensure the security of its service. Only 20 pre-set phones will be allowed to access the device, which is also protected by a pin-code. Etisalat 3G MobileCAM also has an automatic night mode option, an option to record footage, zooming and pan-tilt functionality and provides an all-round view.
