UAE acts to keep malaria out

Travellers coming to the UAE from countries where malaria is endemic will not be allowed to donate blood for six months after their arrival, Gulf News reported. The World Health Organisation, which has certified the UAE as being malaria free, has recommended the action. The prohibition is directed at countries and not nationalities, a senior health official told the daily.
