Bose launches L1 Model II - the personalized amplification system

The Bose® L1™ family of products represents an entirely new approach to live amplified music. Together they deliver a combination of tone quality , sound coverage and portability previously unavailable from conventional live sound amplification systems. It lets the performer & the audience enjoy a level of clarity that is unprecedented in live amplified performances. It lets the performer hear himself and his fellow musicians, without the need for stage monitors. It puts complete control of the sound right at your fingertips - not at a mixing console at the back of the room. Most importantly, it lets the performer hear what the audience hears, as the L1™ system's unique loudspeaker now serves both musician and audience.

The L1™ Model II system features Articulated Array® speaker technology for greater tonal balance. The loudspeaker's 24 vertically mounted drivers are precisely angled to create clearer highs and more consistent tone in the room. Even people off to the sides enjoy well-balanced, detailed sound.

The Cylindrical Radiator® loudspeaker is a key element of the L1™ Model II. It is designed to be used by all musicians regardless of instrument or style. It amplifies any instrument, including voice, naturally and accurately. Placed behind the musician, this speaker distributes sound evenly to the entire stage and audience. It eschews the need for a PA system, monitors, backline amplifiers or mixing consoles as each performer controls their own individual sound.
