AUD students display their creative work at the Light Middle East 2007 show

American University in Dubai Interior Design students participated in the Light Middle East 2007 Show which took place from May 13 until 15, 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

The conference is the leading event for different types of lighting such as architectural, corporate, retail and theatrical, to name a few. Light Middle East 2007 gives all exhibitors the chance to mingle with clients, meet new ones and develop new projects.

Being the only university invited to participate and represent the design education in the UAE, the students displayed their senior year showcase in front of 170 companies, from over 20 countries, specialized in lighting. AUD's stand was sponsored by Frankfurt-Messe.

The students who participated in the show were: Moemen Nassar (first Prize winner), Noura Awhan, Lida Sarvipyraivanlo and Shirin Benizaman. Participating in such a world-class exhibition is surely an important opportunity for these students, as it opens the doors for them for recognition by the industry.

In light of their success, AUD Interior Design students have been invited to participate in the International Office Show which will take place on June 3rd, 2007 in Dubai at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. The International Office Show will also be attended by faculty and students from Kendall Colleges of Arts & Design of Ferris State University, who will later spend a day at AUD discussing future partnerships between the two prestigious universities.

Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President of AUD, commented: "Students' participation in international commercial activities enhances their confidence and polishes their skills. It also prepares the students for their future professional life. Such events are important for introducing global companies and organizations to the type of projects our students are capable of delivering under the leadership of our specialized, high-caliber professors."
