Parsons wins Dubai Metro design

Parsons Brinckerhoff, an engineering and construction consultant, has been chosen to design the Dubai Metro Purple Line that will provide a fast service between Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central airport at Jebel Ali. The Roads and Traffic Authority is the client. A construction package will be tendered once design plans are completed in May 2008, with construction due to start in March 2009. The Purple Line will have eight stations, three of which will have airline check-in facilities. It is estimated to cost about $2.7bn.
