Omantel to buy Pakistani telco

Omantel is negotiating to buy a Pakistan-based telecom firm, with a deal expected to be concluded by June 2007, Reuters reported, citing Omantel CEO Mohammed Al Wohaibi. The name of the telco was not revealed, but Reuters quoted an industry source in Pakistan who said Omantel was in talks with Worldcall, which runs long distance and international as well as wireless local loop services.
