In a long term agreement, City 7 TV, Dubai's first independent, local English language channel has decided to base its transmission at the Taj TV headquarters in Dubai. Taj TV's facilities are already home to diverse channels such as the three beams of Ten Sports, Direct TV's Cricket Plus, Showtime Sports 1 and 2, Prime Sports and Arabic channel Citruss TV.
City 7 will film their daily show 'Good Morning Dubai' at the Taj TV studios as well as entrusting their whole transmission to the Taj TV facility. The facility has enabled City 7 to include more live content within their line up of programmes as well as move to the hi-tech server based transmission.
Taj TV's first channel 'Ten Sports' dominates the Indian sports television ratings and has led to the launch of separate Ten Sports beams for the Middle East and Pakistan. Taj TV has since been commissioned by American pay TV operator Direct TV to produce the daily 24 hour channel Cricket Plus, and by the leading Middle East pay TV operator ART to produce the daily 24 hour sports channel 'Prime Sports'.
The range of studio and transmission facilities at the Taj TV building has seen a remarkable growth in the number of firms using the facility. They range from Arabic shopping, entertainment and cooking shows to live broadcasts around sports events from the Champions League to the cricket world cup.
