Covering a total of 6,000 square metres of exhibition space, 85 exhibitors from 24 different countries are participating at the industry showcase. Industry giants such as Limitless, Tanmiyat, Fortune Investment Group, Denis Lau, Arquitectonica, Hill International, Halcrow and GHD are amongst a host of international heavyweights on view.
Neil Hickman, Exhibition Director, commented, 'With China in an almost permanent state of urbanisation and the trend towards large scale mixed-use developments, major developers are participating at Cityscape to highlight their expertise with similar projects elsewhere in the world.'
Providing consistency with the brand, the Cityscape China conference which takes place at the Sheraton Hotel, adjacent to INTEX, features four days of stimulating presentations, discussion and debate as well as specialist workshops, exciting site visits, project showcases of outstanding real estate projects and priceless networking opportunities.
Over 40 leading regional and international industry players will share their experience and insight into the burgeoning Chinese real estate market. On the agenda for discussion are key issues including, understanding China's complex legal and regulatory environment, capitalising on the rapid expansion of China's real estate market and the issues of first versus second tier cities. In addition the renowned World Architectural Conference will take place at the Renaissance Hotel, providing a cluster of top international industry events.
Indeed, the Shanghai event will be the first time that industry professionals have been exposed to the Cityscape concept. 'Previously, the focus in China has been on downstream events that only focus on the marketing of existing properties. Cityscape China will address all areas of the development cycle offering an upstream alternative driving investors to meet developers and architects, during the exhibition or at the dedicated conference sessions,' added Hickman.
Development in China is by far the largest in the world, experiencing over 20 per cent real estate growth per annum since 1995, over 750 cities to be built over the next 15 years and 2,520 projects either planned or currently under construction, including waterfront developments, industrial free zones, 'techno' cities and tourism projects on a monumental scale unique anywhere in the world.
