Designed by world renowned British/Iraqi architect and designer Zaha Hadid, the groundbreaking structure was revealed at a special event held this week at The British Museum in London.

The US$465 million commercial tower located in Dubai's Business Bay district is set to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2009. 'The Opus' will fuse visionary aesthetics, architecture and art to create a unique world-first structure set to change conventional thought about structural development methods.

"Zaha Hadid is an architect who constantly pushes the boundaries of architecture and urban design. By working with Zaha, Omniyat Properties will revolutionise the way that people and structures interact with their surroundings. The building has been designed as a piece of art as well as the most functional and technologically advanced environment to date," said Mehdi Amjad, President and CEO, Omniyat Properties.

Set to house freehold offices, the artistic masterpiece will be a symbiotic mix of art and efficacy. The revolutionary concept in offices will change the way people look at their organisation. The building will have an AAA-class rating, 87% space efficiency and consist of three separate towers. Reflexive fritting patterns will be applied onto the glass façade in order to reduce the solar gains inside the building. The fluid-form void in the middle of the building will make 'The Opus' a distinct landmark in Dubai's emerging skyline.

'The Opus' will offer a range of facilities including a tranquillity zone, a shaded roof terrace, a media zone and a gym. With up to 2000 parking berths, the commercial tower will comfortably accommodate both visitors and office goers alike.

"The structure has been designed to be a stand-alone work of art, but also pays equal attention to utility in order to create a productive working environment. This building will deliver never before seen internal and external elements without compromising its complex visual architecture or its function," said Zaha Hadid, the first female recipient of Pritzker Architecture Prize.

An international audience witnessed the company's unique vision in technology and design during the London reveal, which demonstrated Omniyat Properties' proficiency in creating truly iconic structures.

Omniyat Properties is one of the region's fastest growing futuristic developers with the project valued at over AED 2.7 billion (US$ 733 million). These figures are expected to rise to AED 10 billion (US$ 2.75 billion) by the end of 2007.
