  • PRESS RELEASE

Bab Al Shams, in conjunction with the Dubai Equestrian Club, is backing The Endurance Cup 2007 in Assisi, Italy from June 21 to 24.

The showpiece event is being held under the patronage of the FEI President, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Around 100 riders from 40 different countries have been invited to take part in the CE13* 120-km ride.

The route stretches over a uniquely beautiful area, through the luxuriant green hills of Assisi and Spello and the surrounding area.

The ride will be notable, as for the first time the race will end 30 minutes after the winning horse finishes, so competitors will be classified on their positions at that time.

In addition to the race, the event will stage a number of culturally, economical and politically significant events.

An international forum on development guidelines between Italy and the UAE will focus on trade and development structure for growth in business.

The session will be attended by leading members from Italian and Emirati industry, as well as the public sector.

There will also be an event, entitled, "Voices of Arab Women" which will attempt to promote the exchange of ideas and dialogue between Western and Arab outlooks and lifestyles.
