Metito backs CSR in the UAE

The first of the three events was taking a judiciary role in the judgment panel at the Inter-school public speaking competition, organised by Emirates Environmental Groups, where students were encouraged to conduct research on a critical environmental issue and prepare an audio visual presentation for the competition.

Budoor Hunnoon, Corporate Communications Manager of Metito said, "The event aims to raise environmental awareness among school children while also developing their research and public speaking skills, team work and networking capabilities."

Metito also organised a trip for the civil engineering students from the American University of Sharjah to the sewage treatment plant in the Meadows where they took part in an interactive discussion regarding the benefits of water re-use whilst touring the plant. The students were educated on the technical operations of Metito, where they learnt about the significance of water re-use and environmental awareness in world conservation.

"Metito has had great pleasure in organizing and taking part in these events. We feel one of the best ways to create public environmental awareness is through educating the younger generation, and we believe youth should be a main focus. Metito holds a strong commitment to world conservation, and we are happy to be able to promote the responsibility of each and every person to the environment," commented Budoor.

Finally, Metito organised two blood donation drives where employees of the company donated blood for blood banks and hospitals, which depend on these donations to meet the ongoing demand for blood supply. Such initiatives help saving lives and are a great way to help the local community.

Metito, also a founding member of the Emirates CSR Network and a corporate member of the Emirates Environmental Group, has made community welfare a top priority in its strategy and has established a long track record of giving back to the community. These latest CSR events have confirmed their commitment to this cause and the local community.
