About the Airport Show
The Airport Show is the region's leading showcase for airport equipment, technology and services from around the world. Launched in 2001 for the pre-qualification of suppliers to the US$1.4 billion Dubai International Airport expansion, the event has developed into the region's premier airport exhibition - catering to over US$50 billion worth of airport expansion across the Middle East, Africa and Indian Sub-continent.

Over 400 companies exhibited their products and services at the 2006 Airport Show. These companies came from 41 countries and represented all areas of airport development. The event also saw a 26% growth in the number of exhibitors represented over the previous year, with a 37% increase in international exhibitors. The 2006 event attracted 3,912 visitors from 71 countries.

The fastest growing aviation market in the world
Massive airport development projects, unprecedented airline expansions and ever-soaring traffic are turning the wider Middle East into an aviation supplier's dream.

Over US$40 billion has been earmarked for the development of aviation infrastructure across the Middle East, Africa, Indian Subcontinent and CIS. The construction of brand new airports, new terminals, concourses, runways and the modernisation of existing facilities have been fuelled by a marked increase in tourist arrivals, airline expansions and competition among regional aviation authorities. This current boom is no temporary phenomenon, with future business potential for airport industry suppliers set to gain momentum in the years ahead.
