- Iran: Tuesday, May 29 - 2007 at 11:12
Iran has lifted a ban on Al Jazeera allowing the satellite channel to resume work in the Islamic republic, AFP reported. The network was banned from entering the Iranian parliament after a programme it made was deemed insulting to the most revered Shiite cleric in Iraq, Grand Ayatollah Ali Al Sistani. Reporters were also ejected from a press conference of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on his recent UAE visit.
