- PRESS RELEASE
Representatives of IBM Global Business Services and Emirates Airlines conducted presentations, highlighting training programs and employment opportunities available to students of the American University in Dubai (AUD).
Ms Dania Bazzy, Director of External Affairs and Acting Dean of Student Services at the American University in Dubai commented: "Such presentations help guide the students in the quest for finding appropriate jobs. The fact that companies of such caliber are constantly seeking AUD graduates to fill employment opportunities is testimony to the high academic and intellectual standard of our students."
Nicholas Harvey, Recruitment Manager and Managing Consultant at IBM Global Business Services, introduced the program by providing the students with a description about IBM and its history. He commented: " As we did this presentation in an untraditional way, the students also participated in and learned about team working through an interactive session during the presentation."
The program will allow fresh graduates and alumni to work with IBM consultants on helping companies with their business problems and delivering dynamic solutions in each of the following categories: Strategy and Change Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Human Capital Management, Customer Relationship Managements and Application Innovation. IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan is looking to hire top students from across the region.
Human Resource Recruitment Specialist at Emirates Airlines, Lukasz Kosowski noted:" I am delighted to be interacting with students of the American University in Dubai, one of the premier academic institutes in the emirate. The students at the university have high scholastic standards, and I am confident our programs will match their skill sets, and at the same time encourage them to live the Emirates Values of service excellence, innovation, and financial strength. Emirates offers a dynamic work culture that allows individuals to thrive, develop, and innovate."
To recruit the very best, Emirates adopts a comprehensive selection process comprising a written test, group assessment, psychometrics and psychology screening, and a one-to-one interview in the final stages. Students will gain hands-on experience in Revenue Management Systems, laying the foundation for more challenging tasks within the airline's Revenue Optimization department.
The presentations, which were attended by over 50 students from different majors including Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, were followed by a Question and Answer session. Questions from interested students focused primarily on the different aspects of the program including working hours and job requirements.
