WHO urges 100% smoke-free

The World Health Organisation says there is no safe level of exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke and that all public places should be 100% smoke free. Exposure causes heart disease and serious respiratory and cardiovascular diseases; it also worsens existing conditions such as asthma in children. The WHO has released new policy recommendations on protection from exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke in advance of World No Tobacco Day on 31 May 2007.
