This membership complements the organisation's many long-term strategies. Sama Dubai seeks to assure property-owners across all Sama Dubai projects such as The Lagoons, Amwaj Morocco and the Salam Resort and Spa in Oman that the company is implementing a thorough process of sustainable development and environmental excellence.

Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman, Sama Dubai, said: "We are committed to making viable investments in the process of sustainability. We encourage ecological awareness amongst our customers. Our projects feature resource efficient buildings created by planners who understand architectural practices that are environmentally sensitive."

"This move enables our stakeholders to be involved in protecting the environment. Investors can have the confidence that our projects meet the highest global environmental standards, which add true value to their investments. For residents, the quality of life is enhanced as communities will develop in more balanced surroundings, in harmony with their natural surroundings."

The guiding principle of 'sustainable development' is reflected in all the construction and operational phases of Sama Dubai's projects. The objective is to provide high quality real estate products and services while preserving natural resources, safeguarding biodiversity and enhancing the living standards of communities.

To proactively address global environmental challenges, Sama Dubai uses technologies to take advantage of renewable energy sources, reduce water and energy use and minimise waste and pollution.

Recently, a waste management and recycling programme was implemented in Sama Dubai's offices at the Dubai Healthcare City, in cooperation with TADWEER Waste Treatments Company. This reflects the company's keenness to utilise its membership to capitalise on EEG's expertise to create similar avenues for sustainable development and corporate responsibility for the benefit of the residents.

'The Lagoons', a 6.5 million sq meter cluster of seven islands being developed by Sama Dubai in an area adjacent to the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary (RAKWS), has also sponsored an AED10 million Visitor Centre for the Dubai Creek sanctuary in partnership with Dubai Municipality. Acting as a centre of learning, it will promote awareness on the significance of environmental conservation and the country's bio-diversity.
