- PRESS RELEASE
In light of encouraging emiratisation, the Rail Agency from the RTA has recently accepted three students from the Higher College of Technologies as part of the student work placement program.
The four week training program includes projects based on Scada, Signaling and Operation Control Centre systems that are interdependent and imperative for the functioning of any rail system. To understand the functioning of the Rail Agency and the management of the Dubai Metro Project, the students were given an in-depth understanding and have been permitted to attend and participate in meetings, and write reports. The students are required to submit a weekly status project report that is evaluated by the higher management that directs them accordingly.
Adnan Al Hammadi, Director of Construction said," The students are enthusiastic about their involvement in this strategic project. As part of the RTA policies, we are proud to encourage and help young and talented UAE nationals to work with us and gather work experience as they progress. This not only allows them to explore their skills but gives them room for grooming and growth."
The students are very eager to learn and to achieve the training objectives. One of the students, working with the signaling system, has successfully created a simplified train control model.
On speaking to the students about their experience, they said they are very excited about the Dubai Metro and on graduating would be more than overjoyed to join the Rail Agency.
