UAE's Royal Jet targets China for strategic expansion

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 30 - 2007 at 12:14
  • PRESS RELEASE

Royal Jet, the UAE-headquartered luxury flight services company, is to participate in the international luxury lifestyle show, Extravaganza, to be held from 1 to 2 June 2007 in Shanghai, as part of a growth initiative to increase its presence in the Asian market.

"We are constantly striving to increase our presence in important international markets such as China and high-profile exhibitions aid in raising awareness of the company and its aviation services," Said His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman, Royal Jet.

The strategic initiative is bolstered by the recent Approved Destination Status (ADS) agreement between China and the UAE, which streamlines the visa process for Chinese nationals coming to the UAE.

"Our presence in China will give us a competitive edge in the aviation sector both regionally and internationally." Add H.E

China is increasing its business activities in the MENA region through strategic investments in the property, construction and development sectors. According to industry figures bilateral trade between the UAE and China has given rise to a 10% annual increase in visitors to each country.

"China is an increasingly important market for Royal Jet and there has been a significant increase in our flights to and from this Asian giant due to our competitive, discreet and exclusive service, and the opportunity to demonstrate our industry leading aviation offerings in the Chinese market could not be overlooked."

"Royal Jet's move into the Asian market is the first step in the creation of mutually beneficial partnerships with important Asian clients," commented Christopher Crum, President and CEO, Royal Jet.

The company has the world's largest private charter fleet of the long-range BBJ1s, capable of carrying 40 passengers. The aircraft can be configured to suit the needs of the individual client and can be operational within as little as three hours.

Royal Jet has recently introduced two new Learjet 35As (L35) - a medium-range executive jet capable of travelling 3690 kilometres at a speed of 461 knots - which significantly increase the competitive VIP and MEDEVAC flight options offered by the company.

"The L35s are ideal for business travellers wishing to fly within the MENA region as it is one of the fastest aircraft in its class and can transport four passengers comfortably, making it an ideal choice for quick business flights," mentioned Crum.

Royal Jet also provides consultancy services for private jet owners through its aircraft management and acquisition division and operates a fixed base operation (FBO) VIP terminal from where it delivers a full range of maintenance, ground handling, crew and catering services to all executive flights operating in or through Abu Dhabi.

Additionally the company also operates Royal Med - its specialist medical evacuation (Medevac) air ambulance division. It has a highly qualified Aero Medical team and is equipped with leading-edge medical equipment - capable of transporting patients in an intensive care unit configuration to worldwide destinations.

The existing fleet includes two Gulfstreams (G300), a Medevac Learjet (L55), two Learjets (L35), a British Aerospace Avro RJ85 and the largest commercial offering of four Boeing Business Jets (BBJ1) - with a fifth coming online later this year and also offers VIP configured helicopters through its partnered companies.
