HP appoints regional channel chiefs for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 30 - 2007 at 15:20
  • PRESS RELEASE

HP announced the appointment of two new channel leaders, as part of its recent split of its Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region, formerly referred to as ISE.

Due to the significance and size of ISE, HP decided to divide the region into two entities: CEE and MEMA. CEE will cover Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS, while MEMA will cover the Middle Eastern countries, the African continent including South Africa, as well as Greece and Turkey.

The split is a logical consequence of HP's overall growth strategy and will allow HP to further focus on the unique business opportunities and growth potential in these markets.

The ISE split into two sub-regions will be strengthened by the creation of two teams which will lead HP's growth and leadership in their respective sub-regions.

Within the Solution Partners Organization (SPO) group, Eric Lallier will now be the new SPO director for the CEE sub-region. Lallier joined HP in 1989 as a sales engineer in France and has held various positions since, including product marketing management, as well as end-user account management. Most recently, he held the position of SPO director in France.

"I am really delighted to be moving into this exciting assignment. I'm a very strong believer in the importance of the channel for HP in the CEE sub-region and will work to develop the region to full profitability. The past few years have brought a lot of change in the way we have structured our business and these results are paying off. Now we need to capitalize on these results, and I'm ready to help do this," said Lallier.

For the MEMA sub-region, Tom Yeates will take on the role of SPO director. Yeates joined the company in 1993 in EMEA workstation sales and marketing. Since then he has held various Enterprise Business Unit management and sales roles. Most recently, he led the SPO ESS sales organization in EMEA, where he successfully implemented the specialist sales model, which delivered consistent year on year growth.

"MEMA is a very important sub-region of EMEA, having proven its growth potential repeatedly in the last years, and I'm pleased to be joining the team to further develop this thriving sub-region. I see this internal change within HP as nothing but beneficial, and aim to prove that through consistent future growth," said Yeates.
Both changes in position will be effective as of the 1st of May 2007.
