Batelco donates BD800,000 to NGO's support fund to be allocated to Batelco Care Centre for Family Violence Cases

Batelco Chairman Shaikh Hamad Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has presented BD800,000 to HE Dr. Fatima Al Balooshi, Minister of Social Affairs, at a presentation ceremony at the Ministry of Social Development yesterday (Wednesday, May 30th).

The donation is in support for NGO's Support Fund and will be allocated to Batelco Care Centre for Family Violence Cases.

Dr. Al Balooshi welcomed Batelco representatives and thanked them for the generous contribution to the ministry and for their continuous co-operation that enhances the social services offered to the Bahraini community.

The financial aid to the NGO's Support Fund will help Batelco Care Centre for Family Violence Cases to continue with its invaluable work in the Kingdom. The Centre is a growing success story that is winning wide recognition for its achievements. It is staffed by several volunteers, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, social workers and psychiatrists who offer their services and aid to all victims of domestic violence - including men, women and children of all nationalities.

"The Centre is a crucial lifeline for the safety and security of all those affected by violence in their own home and Batelco is proud to help the Society offer assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in our community," said Shaikh Hamad.

Supporting charitable causes and contributing to a wide range of education and health initiatives remains a priority for Batelco.
