Tanmiyat presents Urban Planning Awards at University of Sharjah

Male and female students alike were honoured with these prestigious awards, which were presented by HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The awards are part of Tanmiyat Group's initiative toward encouraging Middle Eastern youth to empower themselves through tertiary education and put their skills to use for the continued development of the communities they stand to inherit in the future.

Mr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Majed, Vice President of Tanmiyat Group, said, "Tanmiyat Group is an avid supporter of higher education. If we are to continue to enjoy our current rate of growth and development across various sectors, our future leaders need to equip themselves with the practical skills necessary for sustaining it. Therefore, we feel that it is important to recognize and reward academic excellence."

The current restructuring of higher education in the Arab world is placing emphasis on scientific research at colleges and universities and re-evaluating the scope of student activities at these institutions, in order to achieve a balance in the relationship between educational establishments and the labour market.
